2012 During Lent the children took part in the “Buckets of Pennies Appeal” for Water Aid. They collected loose change, and donated the money from their Easter competitions to the charity. A tremendous total of £360.40 was raised over five weeks. This money will help provide clean water and improved sanitation for people inMalawi, Kenya and Nepal. We are very proud of our pupils, and we thank everyone who generously supported this very worthy charity.
RIGHTS RESPECTING SCHOOLS AWARD Our Rights Respecting Schools Committee has been extremely busy this term promoting children's rights and responsibilities. We are delighted to have achieved the UNICEF Recognition of Commitment Award which is the first step towards achieving the full R.R.S. Award. The R.R.S. Award Scheme is an effective way of inspiring and supporting schools that want to provide children with a rights respecting guide to life. These are pictures from a recent visit that sought to explain the issues surrounding water and sanitation in many parts of Africa.
